Jeff Roach was born and raised in Grand Falls, New Brunswick. He graduated from NBCC Miramichi’s Traditional Animation and Graphic Design program, then moved to Halifax to begin his animation career.
Over the course of many years, Jeff evolved from animator to storyboard artist, character designer, background designer, and colorist. Eventually becoming lead animator and then lead series director. As director, he led projects for major brands including Hasbro’s Chomp Squad, Rovio’s Angry Birds MakerSpace shorts, and Mattel’s Hot Wheels City and Monster Trucks Island.
Seeking new challenges and creative growth, Jeff joined Cartoon Conrad, where he has continued to expand his role. He directed the CBC series Gisèle’s Mashup Adventures, served as Animation Director on Momolu and Friends, and has supervised animation on several other productions.
In 2015, Jeff was honored with the Screen Nova Scotia Award for Best Animated Scene.
Supported by his wife Allie and inspired daily by his two boys, Elliot and Elijah, Jeff is always looking to sharpen his skills as both an artist and a director.
